A vocalist with a heart of gold, Caralisa Monteiro has been in the music circuit for over a decade. Often referred to as ‘The Jingle Queen’, Caralisa has lent her voice to over 7,000 ad jingles for several well-known brands.

Breaking out with the soulful “Phir Dekhiye” from Rock On, she went on to establish herself as the voice behind some very popular Bollywood melodies. An unconventional vocal style, epitomized beautifully in songs like “Nashe Si Chad Gayee” from "Befikre", "Rangaa Re" from "Fitoor" and "Phir Dekhiye" from "Rock On", has meant that she continues to retain a unique identity amongst her contemporaries.

Having begun her advertising career working with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Caralisa has gone on to work on more than 7000 jingles earning her the moniker of “Jingle Queen”.

Independent Music


All of the years spent in creating music and honing her skills, coupled with a desire to give voice to her innate sensibilities as an artist culminated in the release of her solo debut album “Illusions”.  The fact that the album features the talents of industry heavyweights like Vishal Dadlani (Vishal-Shekhar), Mahesh Tinaikar and Zubin Balaporia (Indus Creed), and Paresh & Naresh Kamath (Kailasa)is a testimony to the respect that she commands.

Activism

In between performing her hit Bollywood numbers for millions of fans across the globe and composing her original music, Caralisa actively raises funds to help cancer patients via her NGO Angel in Disguise. In 2014, to help create awareness about cancer, she ran a 182km from Mumbai to Pune.

She is also committed to raising awareness for breast cancer through her NGO “Angel in Disguise”.

Caralisa has composed an anthem for the “Rape Roko” movement and is an active supporter of the Rape Law amendmentFrom fighting to save the Aarey forest to questioning the State on public impact issuesCaralisa continues to be an active voice and lends her support.

Charity


Caralisa is vocal on social causes in particular those for women and children who are abused and cancer patients. Having lost her mother and sister to cancer she has set up her own NGO that helps women suffering with breast cancer and sexually abused women and children.
